Annulus Pressure Monitoring Condition
DESCRIPTION:
Tubing-Casing Annulus pressure monitoring (TCAM) is required whenever any part of the usable quality groundwater is protected only by un-cemented pipe.
EXAMPLES:
- an existing well that was drilled with 500 feet of surface casing, but the TCEQ currently recommends 550 feet of surface casing, and the production casing is not cemented between the depths of 500 and 550 feet;
- an existing well that was drilled with production casing cemented from total depth to ground surface as a single-string completion (without any surface casing), but the cement through the groundwater zone did not meet the Rule 13 quality standard; and
- an existing well that was required to increase test frequency as a condition of a workover approval, or variance from other construction or operating standards.
