Holiday Office Closure

In observance of the Christmas holidays, Railroad Commission of Texas offices will be closed December 23-27. The offices will re-open at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 30 for regular business. Expedited Drilling Permits will be processed within standard processing times. If assistance is needed, please email Drillingpermits-info@rrc.texas.gov.

The Railroad Commission of Texas' Case Administration Service Electronic System (RRC CASES) allows you to search and view the agency's case information online, including processed case documents. The case information is updated throughout the day.

Authenticated users may also log into RRC CASES to submit documents for filing in dockets created in RRC CASES and subscribe to receive daily email notifications detailing the documents uploaded for a specific case or docket. To become an authenticated user, you must request access. Documents may only be uploaded to dockets created in RRC CASES. To identify if a docket was created in RRC CASES, the docket number is in the following format:

Oil & Gas Dockets
  • OG-YR-0000XXXX
    Example: OG-20-00001234
Gas Services Dockets
  • OS-YR-0000XXXX
    Example: OS-20-00001234
Surface Mining & Reclamation Dockets
  • MR-YR-0000XXXX
    Example: MR-20-00001234
Critical Infrastructure Dockets
  • CI-YR-0000XXXX
    Example: CI-22-00001234
