August 11, 2020

The Railroad Commission of Texas has posted new FAQs on pipeline permitting and mapping to provide guidance to pipeline operators when submitting data online using the Pipeline Online Permitting System (POPS).
The FAQs are available here on the RRC website

On August 5, the RRC’s Pipeline Safety department hosted a webinar on recent rule updates to 16 Texas Administrative Code §3.70 and Chapter 8, which included:

  • the new Transfer Merge function in POPS;
  • A Guide to Shapefile Submissions, which outlines Texas Pipeline Mapping System (TPMS) attribute definitions, valid codes, and digital projection requirements;
  • most common shapefile submission errors; and
  • a mapping demonstration.
